Hello! This e-mail is a first test of my current e-mail list. Three times before I created a mailing list, only to lose the whole thing in a computer crash. I gave up for a year. But here I am, trying again. There are 606 of you on the list, so if I do something stupid, a LOT of people will be irritated at me. I'm not a pro at this, but I'm trying hard, friends. If this works, I plan to check in with you once in a while, sharing what's happening in my personal life, plus interesting--maybe even useful--information as I encounter it.

In this first e-mail, I also want to make sure you are all willing to be on my mailing list. If not, just tell me so and I will remove your name. Personally, I detest being spammed and I certainly don't want to become one of those awful spammer beings in your eyes.

For starters, here's a Christmas card for homesteaders. It will be especially appreciated by the goaty folks. Every major breed of dairy goat is represented, plus two major breeds of meat goat. Can you identify them all? I borrowed the e-card from the scholarly...
