ABOUT DON

donDon, a.k.a. "Donnie," is a talkative, articulate retired cowboy (and a lot more) who has seen much of life and learned much wisdom. "I was born, got the stuffins kicked out of me a lot. I was born the oldest of five kids, four sisters."

His way of speech is pure roughneck country. With some trade schooling beyond high school, Don has the sharp intellect of a self-made (and sometimes unmade) man. He has worked as a mechanic, carpenter, licensed pilot, farmer, miner, assembly line piece worker running internal/external grinders and gear hobs machines, chef, welder, ranch hand, cop, sheriff's deputy, private investigator, and a few dozen other occupational slots. He's owned businesses, sold or lost them, and tried again. He has walked across America twice, built stock cars, manufactured placer gold mining plants, and done chemical refining of gold and silver. In the sports area, Don has been a professional baseball player (Class D minor league pitcher, first baseman, left field, $75/game), and professional target archer. He has raced stock cars, motorcycles, and drag raced with motorcycles. He's been the assistant fire chief in his home town, certified handler of hazardous waste spills, an independent legal researcher, and a faithful son and responsible big brother. So Don has experience being self-employed and also in working for others.

He's a blue- color classic with both brains and heart: passionate, opinionated, gentle toward women and the wounded, tough and implacable toward bad guys. Donnie loves a conversation. He's got a million stories, several for almost any subject you want to talk about--and they're a delight to listen to. You may agree with him, or you may disagree. You may teach him something. He may open your eyes to something. Either one's okay. For sure, you'll enjoy the way he uses words.
